Consignor Questions:

How does a consignment sale work?

Register online and then prepare, price & tag your items from home by logging in and using the SUPER EASY online system.  The week of the sale, you will drop off your items at our sale location on a chosen drop off day.  From there, we handle the rest for you!  During the event, you are able to track your sales through the online system.  After the sale, you can pick up your unsold items or choose to have them donated to a local charity.  Your consignor check will then be mailed out to you within 14 days from the close of sale.  It's that easy!!!  Sign up here!

How much does it cost?

We charge only $12 to consign with us.  The fee is paid upon registration and is non-refundable.  The fee goes toward the location rental, advertising, insurance, etc.  You keep most of your consignment sales: 65% or more with the possibility of having your consignor fee refunded if you sign up as a KidCycle Team Member during the sale.  More information here.

How do I get tags?

Tags are generated by our tagging site by entering item description, size, and price which are then printed out on white cardstock at home by you.  Start tagging by signing into your Consignor account here.

How do I price and tag my items?

Clothing should be hung on hangers, with the price tag attached by safety pins to the upper right hand corner of the garment.  Pants and shirts that might fall off easily should be pinned to the hangers securely.  For other items (toys, books, shoes, etc.) you can punch a hole in the tag and zip tie it on, or use clear packing tape to secure it to the item.  For sets of smaller items, plastic bags work great to group them together and then you can tape the tag to the outside of the bag with clear packing tape.  When tagging books or toys that may be damaged by packing tape, please use painters tape.  If you are using a tagging gun, be sure to tag through seams and NOT in the middle of the fabric (it creates holes)!  See the info graphic below for help!

What supplies do I need for tagging?

  • Appropriate sized hangers (save your hangers from store like Old Navy and Carter's or buy inexpensive packs of hangers at Walmart)

  • Safety pins- size 1 inch or larger, 2 inch works great for pants and larger clothing.  (You may also use a tagging gun).

  • Packing tape and painters tape if tagging books or any toys that may be damaged by packing tape.

  • Zip-lock storage bags

  • Zip ties

  • White or light color 60-67lb card stock. (Paper tags tear easily and often fall off during the sale. Please do not use regular printer paper to ensure your tags stay with your items.)  If tags become separated we cannot guarantee that we will be able to reunite tag with item.  This means that your item may not be sold!  A separation of tag and item could also prevent your unsold item from returning home with you at the end of the sale.

Where can I get hangers?

You can ask at dry cleaners or retailers, as some stores just throw them away.  Freecycle and Craigslist are also good places to check.  Don't forget to check with your own friends and neighbors who may be more than happy to give you their excess hangers.

How can make more money on my check?

The quickest way to increase your consignment earnings is to become a KidCycle Team Member at the sale.   If you sign up for one 2 hour shift, your consignor fee will be refunded.   Signing up for two 2 hour shifts will earn you 70% of your total sales.  If you sign up for three 2 hour shifts, you earn 70% of your total sales AND your consignor's fee is refunded.

Since we are a newer sale, one of the best ways to help is to tell others about us!  This will assure we have ample shoppers to buy your and other consignor's items.  The MORE you tell, the MORE you sell!  Let your friends, family, co-workers, etc. know (don't forget to share our Facebook page!) that this is a great way that they can buy almost new clothing and other kids items for their children for up to 90% off of retail!  Everyone loves a bargain!

Do I have to be at the sale?

No!  We do need KidCycle Team Members, but you do not have to be present to sell your items.  We handle the selling for you!  Just drop off your items, pick up anything at the end of the sale (unless you choose to donate), and then just wait for your check!

What happens to my unsold items after the sale ends?

That is completely up to you! You can pick up anything that is unsold during an appointed pick up time or, if you chose to mark your items as "donate" when tagging, they will go to a local charity.  Sometimes due to the volume of inventory at the sale, a stray item may go missing.  We've both personally had this happen at sales that we have consigned at in the past.  We will do our best to locate any missing item during pick up, however, in the event that an item(s) isn't found, KidCycle is ultimately NOT responsible for lost inventorySign up TODAY!
